NCCLS: Commitment to Constituents
NCCLS is committed to fulfilling its mission: enhancing the value of medical testing and healthcare services through the development and dissemination of consensus standards, guidelines, and best practices. For more than 35 years, the organization’s key priority has been to seek ways to meet the needs of its constituents and key stakeholders, whose unwavering dedication and support assist the organization in successfully fulfilling its mission, reinforcing its strength, and expanding its focus to improve patient care by establishing practical global standards.
Commitment to Integrity of the Consensus Process NCCLS’s method of standards development is through the consensus process – a unique, carefully designed process of development, evaluation, and involvement to assure consideration of all views. The result is a document that is accepted by all interested parties as the best practice, because it has been fairly and widely evaluated and tested. Consensus is the core strength of NCCLS. By using its unique consensus process, recognized worldwide, NCCLS meets the needs of its member organizations and other constituents in the industry, government, and professional sectors by managing the production of practical and timely information and resources that promote quality products and practices. NCCLS is committed to maintain the integrity of and to improve the consensus process for more efficient, timely development of the most needed projects.
Commitment to High Quality Products and Customer Service With the involvement and participation of our members and volunteers, NCCLS is able to provide high quality standards and guidelines to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of clinical and laboratory practices. NCCLS relies on the participation of volunteers in order to develop the right documents at the right time. In addition, by seeking a wide range of organizational partnerships, NCCLS is able to further enhance the positive impact of consensus documents for the entire global healthcare community. NCCLS is committed to producing quality products and resources with the highest level of customer service and consistency.
Commitment to Effective Communication NCCLS serves our constituencies and key stakeholders by producing consensus documents that meet an identified need. Participation is the key to make certain that this need is met. NCCLS is dedicated to ensuring that its constituencies and key stakeholders are actively involved in the planning and development of each key area of interest. This input and effective communication help NCCLS determine the areas in the healthcare community that require standards, guidelines, and best practices. NCCLS is committed to effective communication to maintain the quality, credibility, and dependability of the useful, gold standards of today and tomorrow.
