Seeking Volunteer Participation on Area Committees – Call for Nominations
NCCLS is requesting area committee nominations for 2005 to ensure the effective operation of the committees as the NCCLS consensus body.
In submitting nominations of candidates for area committee membership from the government, industry, and professional sectors, please consider the following:
- the responsibilities and characteristics of the NCCLS area committees, and the expertise and skills required (described in Annex I);
- area committee member qualifications and selection criteria recommended by the NCCLS Quality and Education Committee (described in Annex II);
- the mission of each area committee, along with its published documents and projects in development (described in Annex III).
Request for Recommendations of Candidates: For each recommended candidate, we ask that you either provide a curriculum vitae or arrange for the candidate to forward a CV to the Executive Offices. We also request a brief description of the nominee’s background and interest in the project area, including information highlighting any experiences that relate to the candidate’s effectiveness in group decision making.
The nominee must submit a completed “Disclosure of Interests” form with all sections completed, including information about the interests of the candidate’s affiliate organizations or institution and about the volunteer’s role in the organization. NOTE: All disclosed information is confidential prior to member appointment; upon appointment, the information is available for review upon request as part of the record of a consensus document as it advances through the NCCLS committee and Board of Directors voting stages.
We will assume you have confirmed each nominee’s willingness to serve if appointed. Committee membership is limited. However, all nominees not appointed as members will be designated as observers.
