Lab Guidelines & Standards

Updated Methodologies for Enumeration of Cell Populations by Flow Cytometry

By using state-of-the-art methodologies, laboratory professionals whose daily responsibilities include basic flow cytometric assessments, especially lymphocyte subset and CD34+ stem cell enumeration, will be able to minimize inter-operator and inter-laboratory variability. Therefore, the accuracy of laboratory results will improve, and health care will advance. Such methodologies are detailed in Enumeration of Immunologically Defined Cell Populations by Flow Cytometry; Approved Guideline—Second Edition (H42-A2), published by Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI, formerly NCCLS) in May 2007.
