Executive Vice President's Message
Reflections of the Past Year
CLSI has had a very solid year as measured by any yardstick. We have continued to grow our extensive library of excellent consensus standards and guidelines, as well as companion products such as Quick Guides, Checklists, and Wallcharts that were well received by the marketplace.
This past year, some significant governance and technical committee leadership and structure changes have put CLSI in a position to be timelier and more customer focused with the flexibility and speed to adapt to quickly changing environmental factors.
We have achieved marked progress in our efforts to improve laboratory capacity and quality systems implementation in sub-Saharan Africa through our grant funding from the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) program as administered by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). At the same time, our joint global efforts with the World Health Organization, International Organization for Standardization, Japanese Committee for Clinical Laboratory Standards, International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine, and International Federation of Biomedical Laboratory Science are continuing to advance.
CLSI underwent a major realignment of the staff office to optimally serve our customers, fulfill our strategic plan priorities, and enhance information technology platforms.
Solid financial results ensured CLSI’s operations and growth plans are adequately funded. On behalf of CLSI’s Board of Directors, thank you for making 2007 a memorable year. I hope you enjoy reading the attached annual membership report for the 2007 fiscal year and as always, please do not hesitate to e-mail me at gfine@clsi.org with any of your thoughts.
Season’s Greetings and best wishes for a happy new year.
Glen
