At the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) World Standards Week 2007 Annual Awards Banquet and Ceremony on Wednesday, 17 October, John V. Bergen, past CLSI Executive Director for over 23 years, will receive the George S. Wham Leadership Medal. The award honors an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the voluntary standardization community and provided long-term direction and visionary qualities in support of the ANSI Federation. The award recognizes Bergen’s many contributions to ANSI, his outstanding experience in standards management, and his efforts to define standards in medical testing, healthcare services, and the use of new technologies.
