CLSI 2006 Leadership Conference: Creating a Culture of Patient Safety Through Risk Management Gain insight into our most important initiatives and understand the important role you play in the organization; get an update on the status of "Option 4" and other CLSI efforts aimed at alternative quality control; and take home tools to implement risk management practices for improving patient safety in your institution as you personally meet and exchange ideas with your global colleagues during the 2006 Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute Leadership Conference. Risk Management Tools for Improved Patient Safety Workshop This workshop will provide attendees with tools to manage risk and eliminate error. This follow-up to 2005’s landmarkQC for the Future workshop will focus specifically upon defining current problems in risk management, reviewing solutions, and describing a systematic risk management approach, providing attendees with concrete tools with which to return to their workplaces for practical application. The program will feature practical training sessions, with available topics including process mapping, FME(C)A, fault tree analysis, and HACCP. Committee Meetings The CLSI Board of Directors, and Board of Directors’ Committees will convene meetings in conjunction with the 2006 Leadership Conference. CLSI area committees will meet to review the status of current projects, establish priorities for 2006-2007, and resolve outstanding issues in project development. In addition, subcommittee sessions will be held for work on projects in development.
Special Events - Member/Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon: Thursday, 27 April at noon. This special event will provide an opportunity to acknowledge the outstanding and important contributions of Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute members and volunteers, install our newest directors, and recognize the 2006 award recipients. - President's Reception: The 2006 President's Reception will be hosted by Robert L. Habig, PhD, Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute President. Don't miss this opportunity to mingle with Dr. Habig and other CLSI members and volunteers.
