CLSI document, Protection of Laboratory Workers From Occupationally Acquired Infections; Approved Guideline—Third Edition (M29-A3), promotes safe laboratory practices to protect workers from the risk of transmission of infectious agents in the workplace by aerosols, droplets, blood, and body substances. These practices include standard precautions, safety devices, personal protective equipment, and decontamination and disposal of biohazardous waste.
